For some reason, God likes choosing ordinary people to do His work. Remember Gideon? He was a farmer threshing wheat in a winepress to hide from the Midianites, but God chose him to deliver Israel. How about David, a smelly old shepherd? God chose him to be King. Or Ruth, an unknown widow from Moab? God chose her to be the great, great, great grandmother of Jesus. Or what about Jesus’ very own disciples like Peter, James, John, and Andrew? They were plain old fishermen, but God chose them to lay the foundation for His church.

God likes to choose ordinary people,like you and me, to do His work.  He wants to use them in His church, in His ministries, in your home, at your work place – everywhere.

Think of an expensive painting.  What makes it so expensive? Is it a special type of canvas that the artist paints on? Perhaps special paint? A unique type of brush? No. While all those things may be good to have, it is soley the talent and the skill of the artist that give the painting it's great value.

Just as the artist uses ordinary paints, brushes, and canvases for his painting, God uses ordinary people like you and me to accomplish extraordinary things for Him. At EBC, God is using an army of people to further His kingdom.  In His army, things like age, background, and social status simply do not matter. How? There is an easy explanation:  We let the "Extraordinary ONE" be the center of everything that we do.

At EBC, we strive to be a "Christ centered" church.  Because Jesus Christ is our very source of power, everything that we do here at EBC is done with Him as the central focus point.  No, we are not the local electric company.  We depend on Christ for Holy Spirit power.  No, we are not the local phone company.  We depend on Christ for a constant connection to the throne of God.  No, we are not the local water company.  Jesus is a living water that flows through our lives to accoplish His purpose on this earth. 

We believe that our Lord, the Extraordinary One, has great things in store for Eastbrook Baptist Church. We believe that our church is a place for exciting worship, energetic preaching, engaging fellowship, and extraordinary power. I believe that you would feel at home at EBC. We are just ordinary people that has huddled around our star quarterback, our best hitter, our fastest runner....I am sure you get the picture. Our request is very simple... "Come Join Our Team!"
